c. 1874 Carnelian Heron Signet Ring

A substantial Victorian era signet crafted from 18k gold and carnelian. The oval seal of a crest depicts a heron standing on a basket of three leaf clover encompassed with a belt motif. The intaglio is set into a wide reeded gold band. The reverse has a lovely, personal inscription that reads "from MB to RWB 29th Nov 1903." Fabulous, weight presence with a beautifully carved intaglio.
