Circa 1820 French Wax Etui Seal

A medium size circular wax seal etui from the Palais Royal in Paris, circa 1820. There are 24 matrices for a total of 48 motifs. The matrices measure about 15 mm in diameter. 

The etui and matrices retain original, gorgeous patina and include some of our favorite motifs including the peacock and the hourglass with wings. The etui is made from silver and the matrices are made from brass.
